My name is Jenelle Patrick, and I wrote the tuesday letter because I have lived that day more times than I am willing to admit.

Before I took the leap and opened my own practice, I spent years inside the design and luxury world at places like Rockwell Group, Artnet, 1stdibs, and Moda Operandi. I’ve watched well-intentioned consultants and project managers push technology that completely undermines the nuance of luxury. They understood the work in concept only, and to them the mythology was arbitrary. They missed that everything in this world runs on trust, and trust cannot be flattened into a feature you can build. I knew this from the inside, because by then I had my own studio, and I already felt like I was drowning before my mother got sick.

When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I stepped away from my studio for two years to be her caregiver. During this time, I started learning about AI both as a distraction from the realities of cancer treatment and in service of how I could rebuild my practice once she got better. It was the only way I could see myself finding a balance between the administrative work and the part of design that actually brought me joy.

I take on a small number of clients at a time. I do the work. You don’t take a course, learn a new tool, or build anything from scratch. Much like your own clients, you share your taste, your references, your way of working, and then show up for the reveal.
